Legal Suite, a leading provider of enterprise legal management (ELM) software, announced its acquisition by Septeo group, a leading technology provider supporting legal professions, giving rise to the 1st European player of legal technologies. Combining the expertise and resources from both groups will allow Legal Suite to accelerate innovation and increase its presence in North America to become one of the Top 5 global players in legal technologies.

LEGAL SUITE GOALS: TO BE ONE OF THE TOP 5 GLOBAL LEADERS OF LEGAL TECHNOLOGIES

For over 18 years, Legal Suite has been offering a wide range of software solutions addressing the day-to-day needs of in-house legal departments and has been recognized for its value from companies of all industries. Today, Legal Suite provides its expertise to support legal performance in the fields of Enterprise Legal Management (ELM), Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) for more than 600 customers and 50,000 users throughout the world. Through its alliance with Septeo, Legal Suite’s ambition is now to grow to be one of the Top 5 global leaders of legal technologies.

Septeo group offers a complete range of products and services to 10,000 clients and 82,000 users including notaries, lawyers, real estate professionals, and SME.

“This project includes an organic growth component based on the Group’s excellent track record of client services and targeted external growth operations, states Philippe Rivière, co-founder of Septeo.

In this context, Septeo reached out to Legal Suite to make this acquisition, which is a unique opportunity for both groups.” Following this outreach, Septeo and Legal Suite will now combine their expertise to better work in synergy, specifically in the field of research and development (blockchain, artificial intelligence, etc.). Thierry Mallat, CEO and co-founder of Legal Suite explains: “After 18 years of organic growth, Legal Suite had to speed up its development. This operation is an opportunity to establish the company as a major player in the legal technologies market worldwide.”

THE CONVERGENCE OF LEGAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL EXPERTISE

“After a long career as General Counsel, I have been convinced since 2000 that the industry needed to be supported in its digital transition internationally” adds Patrick Deleau, founder of Legal Suite. Legal Suite’s expertise is indeed recognized on a global scale: the company makes 30% of its revenues worldwide and integrated Gartner’s Magic Quadrant in 2013 in the ELM category. Its solutions earned distinctions again in 2016 and 2017 as Representative Vendor in Gartner Inc.’s 2017 Market Guide for Enterprise Legal Management Solutions.

The American subsidiary of the Legal Suite Group, whose software is already used by major organizations such as National Instruments, Parex USA (the world's leading manufacturers of specialty chemicals and ready-to-use mortars for the construction industry), and Atlantic Broadband (the 9th largest cable operator in the United States) will also take advantage of this acquisition to offer more cutting-edge solutions to in-house counsel. By enriching its “Innovation-Quality-Services” chain, Legal Suite will be able to further increase the satisfaction level and quality of its customer service.
